What is a Creative Worker Visa?

The UK Creative Worker visa allows individuals to undertake short-term work in the UK’s creative industries for up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension in some cases.

What are Creative Worker Visa applications? 

The UK Creative Worker visa allows individuals to undertake short-term work in the UK’s creative industries for up to 12 months, with the possibility of extension in some cases. It is intended for those making a unique contribution to the sector, such as actors, dancers, musicians, entertainers, fashion models, and film crew members. Technical or support staff, often referred to as an ‘entourage’, may also be eligible to accompany the main creative worker if their presence is essential to the role.  

To apply, individuals must have a confirmed job offer from a licensed UK sponsor. This visa is part of the UK’s Temporary Work scheme and is designed for professionals making a distinctive contribution to the UK’s creative industries. Our service ensures that every requirement is met accurately and efficiently, reducing the risk of delays or refusals.

Who is eligible? 

To qualify for a Creative Worker visa, applicants must meet several key criteria: 

Job Offer and Sponsorship

You must have a confirmed job offer as a creative worker from a UK sponsor that holds a valid Temporary Work – Creative Worker sponsor licence. This includes obtaining a valid Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for the specific role.

Minimum Salary Requirements

You must be paid at least the minimum salary level set by industry bodies such as Equity, PACT, or BECTU. (Note: These salary thresholds do not apply to models, musicians, or circus performers.)

Genuine Role Requirement

You must be able to show that you genuinely intend and are able to undertake the sponsored role and that you do not intend to take on other forms of employment while in the UK.

Maintenance Funds

You need to demonstrate that you have sufficient personal savings to support yourself while in the UK, unless your sponsor agrees to certify maintenance on your behalf.

Additional Requirements

Depending on your country of residence, you may also be required to provide a valid tuberculosis (TB) certificate and obtain an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before entering the UK.

It’s a short-term UK visa for individuals in the creative sector—actors, musicians, dancers, filmmakers, etc.—to work temporarily in the UK.
Anyone working in the creative industries, including performers, technical staff, and support crew.
Up to 12 months, or the duration on your Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) plus 28 days—whichever is shorter. 
You must:
  • Have a job offer from a licensed UK sponsor 
  • Hold a valid Certificate of Sponsorship
  • Meet minimum salary requirements (unless exempt)
  • Show you can support yourself financially (usually £1,270)
There are no formal English language requirements for this visa. 
It's an electronic document issued by your sponsor detailing your job and salary.
Apply online up to 3 months before your job start date. You’ll need to prove your identity and submit documents.
  • Application fee: £319 per person
  • Healthcare surcharge: £1,035 per year
  • 3 weeks if applying from outside the UK
  • 8 weeks if applying from inside the UK
If your job is for 3 months or less, and you don’t normally need a visa to enter the UK, you can enter without applying for a visa—just with a valid CoS.
Yes, you may extend it up to a maximum of 24 months, if continuing with the same sponsor.

Yes. Your partner and children can apply as dependants if they meet eligibility criteria.
