James is a Litigation Paralegal in our Exeter office. He joined the team in August 2023 after working in Exeter County Court in their Civil Section.

While working for the Courts, James had a particular interest in dispute resolution which was only amplified by his exposure to a large plethora of cases. With the insight he gained into the process, James brought a perspective to the RFB Litigation department which has enabled solicitors and partners to correspond with the Courts more efficiently enabling quicker progression of cases.

The bulk of James’s experience has been in drafting and serving notices and applications, as well as preparing and organising disclosure both received and to send. James also handles debt recovery work involving the collating of evidence, preparation of letters before action and the drafting particulars of claim. Also chief amongst James’s duties are conducting research and producing advice letters.

James balances his workload at RFB with an LLM Legal Practice master’s degree as well as preparing to sit the SQE assessments with a view to an August 2025 qualification as a solicitor.
