Sophie qualified as a Solicitor in 2018 and joined RFB in May 2023 as a Senior Associate in the Employment team.
Sophie enjoys acting for both employers and employees in all aspects of employment law. She has particular experience in assisting employers with contracts, policies and procedures, and day-to-day HR issues; redundancy procedures and related considerations; and Employment Tribunal litigation. Sophie has also advised businesses on complex legal areas which have included disability discrimination, employment status, and TUPE.
Sophie has also advised and represented employees in attaining more favourable exit packages, and helping them understand their legal rights and options. She has experience in representing employees in the Employment Tribunal.
Sophie has trained businesses in running disciplinary and grievance procedures and spoken at numerous webinars and a seminar aimed at HR professionals on topics including holiday pay, redundancy and restructuring, and flexible working. She has also written articles for external publications including Personnel Today, New Law Journal, Care Home Management Magazine, and RIBA.
Sophie completed her Law degree at the University of Cambridge. She combines energy, intellect, and commercial pragmatism. Her clients appreciate her personable character and excellent communication skills.
Outside of work, you are likely to see Sophie running with her pet greyhound, in a yoga or Pilates class, enjoying time with friends and family, or exploring and learning new things.
