Ronald Fletcher Baker has again been listed in the 2018 edition of the Legal 500, being recognised in six practice areas and 17 recommended lawyers being singled out for recognition.

Ronald Fletcher Baker LLP is ‘singled out by its attention to detail and well deserved reputation for tenaciousness’. The firm advises on a broad range of serious crime matters. Managing partner Rakeebah Rahim has ‘a great track record and is amazingly organised’, she is supported by the ‘personable and reassuring’ Deniz Oguzkanli and Piers Desser who is ‘a very astute and considered lawyer’. Fraud: White Collar Crime

Ronald Fletcher Baker LLP has experience in handling embezzlement, asset confiscation proceedings and banking fraud. The firm recently acted for a director of Ideals Commercials (UK) in a fraud case involving counterfeit goods worth £4m. Key practitioners Rakeebah Rahim, Deniz Oguzkanli and Piers Desser are recommended. Abbas Nawrozzadeh joined the firm as senior associate from Neumans Solicitors.

Commercial Property

Characterised by its ‘responsive, practical and unpretentious’ service, Ronald Fletcher Baker LLP is well-known in the hospitality and leisure sectors and has an active development practice, where it acts for development vehicles and landowners. Indeed, John O’Callaghan (‘a real expert in his field’) is advising a property developer on the conversion of a West End office building into a hotel. Sarah Hung, who provides ‘excellent one-to-one service’, acted for an East Asian family office in relation to the grant of a new lease for a private members club in a prestigious London location. Also in the hospitality sector, Simon Lawrence assisted a property company with the purchase of a luxury hotel in a prime Central London location. Additional leisure and hospitality sector clients include Comptoir Libanais, Dodds Gin Distillery and Allegro Health and Fitness (F45 Franchise). Also recommended is Rudi Ramdarshan, who has experience in residential development and mixed-use redevelopment projects. Afsheen Nasr and Paul Cain were promoted to equity partners in 2017.

Property finance

Partners Rudi Ramdarshan, David Burns and Jonathan Roberts jointly lead the practice which has core strengths in dilapidations, tenancy renewals, construction disputes, rights to light and enfranchisement.
